Consistancy of sample site is most important. The owner will be comparing one animal with the others, therefore consistancy of the sample site will relate greatly to the accuracy of the testing.

The sample must be cut on the skin (full length). If you are sampling at shearing time it is strongly advised to take the sample before the animal is shorn. It is much easier to get a consistent sample this way.

The midside is the preferred site to take a sample. Also pick a side, either right or left and stick to that side to take the sample.

The animals number/name must be clearly and legibally printed on the sample bag.

The sample size need only be a staple (2 finger widths) for the OFDA 2000.

Fill out and send the STFT Cover Sheet with your parcel of samples. The cover sheet can be downloaded from the web site and it contains all our contact details.
